Air Arabia will restart daily nonstop flights connecting Ras Al Khaimah and Kozhikode, India, beginning October 16, 2026. This move will re-establish a direct air route between the UAE emirate and the coastal city in Kerala. Announced on October 6, the airline indicated that tickets are now available for booking. The daily flights will link Ras Al Khaimah International Airport directly to Kozhikode International Airport in southern India.

According to Air Arabia, the reinstated route will facilitate direct daily flights between the UAE and India, providing passengers with seamless connectivity. Kozhikode, also known as Calicut, is situated on Kerala’s Malabar Coast in southern India. The airline’s October 6 statement did not include specific departure and arrival times, nor did it specify the aircraft type or flight numbers for the resumed service. These details were not included in the latest release either.
Adel Al Ali, group CEO of Air Arabia, expressed satisfaction with the return of this direct link. He highlighted that the daily flights will offer travelers a convenient connection between the two cities. Al Ali also emphasized the airline’s ongoing commitment to reliable travel options and community connectivity. The decision to bring back the route was driven by increased travel demand between Ras Al Khaimah and Kozhikode, although the airline did not share any passenger volume forecasts or traffic estimates.
Daily flights rekindle Kerala connection
The Kozhikode route complements Air Arabia’s existing nonstop network from Ras Al Khaimah, which currently includes destinations such as Cairo, Islamabad, Lahore, and Peshawar. From October 16, the India route will expand this list. The airline has been operating flights from Ras Al Khaimah since May 2014, when it launched its services at Ras Al Khaimah International Airport, establishing the emirate as one of its UAE hubs ever since.
The airline initially launched nonstop flights between Ras Al Khaimah and Kozhikode on November 22, 2023, operating three times weekly with Airbus A320 aircraft. These flights operated on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays under flight numbers G9 728 and G9 729. The upcoming 2026 restart will increase the frequency to daily flights. However, the airline has yet to confirm whether the previous flight numbers or departure times will be used in the new schedule.
Bookings now available ahead of the October relaunch
Passengers interested in traveling on the resumed flights can make reservations through Air Arabia’s official website, its call center, or authorized travel agencies. The airline confirmed these booking options when announcing the October restart. The statement did not specify when the previous service was discontinued, nor did it provide reasons for the interruption. Additionally, fares, detailed schedule times, or aircraft details for the new daily service were not disclosed, with the focus solely on the restart date, flight frequency, and city pair.
The October 16 relaunch marks nearly three years since the route’s initial launch, reintroducing a nonstop connection between Ras Al Khaimah and Kerala. While the airline confirmed a daily schedule from the restart date, further schedule specifics remain undisclosed. Travelers seeking exact timings, flight numbers, or fares are encouraged to check the airline’s booking channels for current details. No additional route changes have been announced at this time.
